Frequently Asked & Question

The best time to visit Assam is from November to April when the weather is pleasant and dry. This period is ideal for wildlife safaris in Kaziranga National Park and outdoor activities. The park typically opens from November 1st to April 30th. Monsoon season (May to September) can be challenging for travel, though the landscape becomes lush and beautiful.

Assamese cuisine offers unique flavors and dishes. Must-try items include Masor Tenga (sour fish curry), Khaar (traditional alkaline curry), Pitha (rice cakes), Duck with Ash Gourd, Ou Tenga (elephant apple curry), and various bamboo shoot dishes. Don't miss the famous Assam tea and local rice beer called Apong.

Majuli can be reached by ferry from Nimati Ghat near Jorhat. Ferries operate multiple times daily from sunrise to sunset. The journey takes about an hour. We arrange all transportation as part of the tour package, including comfortable transfers to and from the ferry points. Note that ferry services may be limited during monsoon season.

For Kaziranga, pack earth-toned clothing (avoid bright colors), comfortable walking shoes, sun protection (hat, sunscreen, sunglasses), insect repellent, and a light jacket for early morning safaris. Don't forget your camera, binoculars, and any required medications. We recommend carrying a water bottle and some light snacks for the safari.

When visiting temples like Kamakhya, dress modestly and remove shoes before entering. It's customary to accept tea when offered as it's an important part of Assamese culture. Always ask permission before photographing people, especially in tribal areas. Respect local customs and traditions, particularly during festival times. Our guides will help you navigate cultural norms throughout the tour.
